The past two weeks have been pretty busy for Inga and me, and it is only going to get busier. Last week, I had the opportunity to sit in on two client meetings, and on Wednesday I sat in on my first brainstorming session. It was amazing to see how the brainstorming session progressed from start to finish and how the whole team participated.
Next week already marks the half way point of my internship. Time really does fly when you are having fun. I entered college with the dream of becoming a TV reporter and eventually a news anchor, but after about year and a half of working at DITV, I realized that I didn’t have the heart for broadcast. I knew that if I took a job at a TV station after college, I would be miserable. As the saying goes…”if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life.”
Through my course work at the University of Iowa I began to realize that I had a heart for PR. This internship has definitely shown me that this is the career for me. If I get a job in the PR industry, I know I will never have to “work” a day in my life! I wake up on the days that I intern excited to see what new projects and challenges the day will bring. Most importantly, I don’t look at what I do at HRB as work; I look at it as something that I enjoy.
